Alhambra Hotel is within convenient reach of London's West End and City. While it is basic in accommodation, the location in Bloomsbury makes it ideal for the money conscious traveler who wants to explore and enjoy London.

Albergo Doni - Venice - My wife and I have just returned from our second visit to Venice in less than two years. Both times we have stayed at Albergo Doni - an authentically Venetian hotel that we consider to be one of those rare finds. It's clean; we've felt safe; the owners have been friendly and helpful; it's remarkably inexpensive. AND, it's ideally situated - on a quiet side canal just a five minute walk from the heart of activities on the Grand Canal and in the Piazza San Marco. Unlike the bigger, more North American like hotels, it gave us a sense of the magic of the 'real' Venice - a city we have come to love. We will be returning again and again - and staying, of course, at Albergo Doni.

Albergo Aurora - Malcesine, Lago di Garda - a great and inexpensive, small refurbished family-run hotel in the historical centre of Malcesine, only two minutes walk from the lake. En suite baths, and parking available.

Bonningtons near Stansted Airport. Lovely English country B&B with complimentary pick-up and drop to the airport. Nearby George Pub is excellent spot for a pint or a meal.
